THE ART OF GIVING

THE ART OF GIVING: Thanks for stopping by and getting involved in this great opportunity. In starting off the new year, Christine and I decided to put together a challenge blog that would not only provide you with inspiration and free goodies, but to also let you know about the many ways we can "PAY IT FORWARD" to others in our lives...in simple and GIGANTIC ways. We hope that in combining both inspiration and giving to others, we can all make this world a better place, one layout, card, and gesture at a time. Thank you for taking this journey with us.

Be an Angel Challenge

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

It is time for a new challenge! Did you guess from my silly clues who our next prize is by? If you guessed Tattered Angels, then you guessed right!

Yes friends it is time for us to be angels. So many of us have them in our lives, some are recognized and some are present when we don't even know it. Regardless, we are blessed to have them.

To tie in the "angel" part of it all we are asking you to check out this website http://www.chemoangels.net/Main%20Content/how_it_works.htm and consider becoming a "Chemo Angel". Here is quick description from the website: Chemo Angels is a program dedicated to supporting people with cancer. In addition to providing helpful information and cancer related resources, we match patients who are going through the difficult time of chemotherapy with "Angels". The function of these Angels is - through little notes, cards and occasional small gifts - to bring a bit of cheer and encouragement.

I have been a Chemo Angel myself and am signing up for another angel spot today. It really isn't that tough to do and it brings a little light in to those tough days for cancer patients. If you decide to sign up, let us know in a post and you will receive an entry into our drawing for a prize from "Tattered Angels".

Now for the crafty part of it all....Do you like Glimmer Mist? Have you ever used it? If not, Glimmer Mist is a product by Tattered Angels. It is a fun spray mist that adds a little sparkle and color to your paper craft projects. It comes in many colors that you can mix and match and spray on any paper project. So...Illyse and I played around with it the other night and this is what we came up with.

Illyse's Project
Illyse pained chipboard and then sprayed on top of the painted surface...pretty no?

Christine's Project

Look did you see..I sprayed this on a chipboard flower and look what I got! Then I decided to spray it on my card stock..doesn't it look like Bling paper? Fun stuff!

So the Crafty part of the challenge is to make a project using glimmer mist and link it in your post for us to see! It is fun and easy challenge to do, so show us your stuff! For more ideas on how to use Glimmer Mist..go check out their blog! http://mytatteredangels.com/blog/

Why not double your chances of winning! Do both the crafty and the paying it forward Chemo angel challenge and get TWO entries into the drawing! Here is what you could win! a bottle of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, a tattered angel,a chipboard flower and a wooden tag!

This challenge will run run from today Sept. 9th until, Saturday Sept. 26th. Two winners will be randomly selected on the following day! So hurry! Have fun and get in your entries!

Just found your blog and think it's great! I think the Chemo Angels organization is wonderful. I've been an Angel for almost a year now, I have my second "buddy" now. I make cards and send her some little goodies. I don't think it's much, but the recipients really appreciate it.

Thanks for getting the word out about Chemo Angels (I have a post about them on my blog: www.pinkparfait.com).

I gotta try your challenge with the glimmber mist ... bought some, gotta use it now!
